"King of Hearts" tour draws thousands to Pensacola Bay Center

Brandon Lake leads worshippers in the song "Gratitude" during the "King of Hearts" tour — Louis Teal

A massive crowd of nearly 10,000 people filled the Pensacola Bay Center with worship during Brandon Lake's "King of Hearts Tour" stop in Pensacola on Saturday, April 18th.

The night also featured worship by Franni Cash (formerly of We the Kingdom), who played hits "Holy Water" and "Raised By Wolves." In addition, Pat Barrett joined Brandon Lake throughout the night!

To begin his set, a recording of Lake played - saying that while praying on how to start these tour nights, he felt God wanted to keep it simple - to declare who He is: the King of hearts.

As his title song puts it - God is the King of the poor, lowly, broken, lonely, hopeless, the gone-too-fars, the lost, the guilty, the misfits, the filthy; God wants to be the King of your heart!

Lake then took the praise up a notch with fan favorites like "Count 'Em," "That's Who I Praise," and "Rattle!" among others.

After playing "Hard Fought Hallelujah," Lake reflected on what God is doing in his life through his new found assignment in the country music genre. He spoke about how Jelly Roll has taken him "to really cool rooms" and how he has had the opportunity to share the Gospel as his own authentic self!

He asked everyone to pray for him as he gets these opportunities to be a godly influence to those artists. He shared that there is a hunger for God inside of country music from so many.

During an intimate acoustic part of the set, he spotted a married couple in the front row. He stopped, prayed, and prophesied over their marriage. He said their faith and obedience is leading to great blessing over them. Lake said he let's Holy Spirit lead and really felt them being highlighted! These moments, he said, have become something Holy Spirit has come to do frequently in his concerts.

Pat Barrett then joined along in worshipping to top tier songs they helped create like "God I'm Just Grateful For You" and "Good Good Father." He then started a Holy Ghost party with the Sons of Sunday song "HOLYGHOST." As a video of Barrett's father-dressed in his best Carl Fredrickson from "Up!" outfit-- dancing around played in the background, they broke out their best praise break moves!

Then, barely singing a single line to take the focus off of him and put on God, Lake led the crowd in his song "Gratitude." The glory fell as you could hear every voice ring out the chorus.

In one of the most powerful moments of the nights, Lake then gave an alter call. He asked those who were giving their lives to the Lord for the first time raise their LED wrist bands to declare their faith publicly. As I gazed at the crowd, what seemed like thousands waved their hands around! God did an amazing work!

A wonderful night lived up to it's moniker; so many made God the King of their heart. One would wonder how many thousands of lives were changed by an encounter with God during this tour. One man's obedience to the Lord - to lift the name of God throughout the nation - created the space to alter these lives!

What can your obedience do for the Kingdom of God?
